Tulip Humilis ‘Helene’ – 10 Bulbs
£5.00
Availability: In stock
10 Bulbs
A small but striking tulip with vibrant raspberry-pink petals and a golden centre that catches the eye.
‘Helene’ is low-growing but always delivers – a lovely way to add colour to pots, gravel planting, or the front of a sunny border.
It flowers early in the season and, like all humilis tulips, comes back reliably each year with minimal effort.
Naturally, we’re a little biased because of the name – but we think every garden deserves a ‘Helene’.
Height – 20cm
Spread – 10cm
Plant – Autumn
Flowering – Mar, Apr
Spacing – 10-15cm
Seed Story
Tulipa humilis is a wild tulip native to the rocky hillsides of Iran, eastern Turkey, and the southern Caucasus – a region known for its extraordinary biodiversity and ancient horticultural history.
First described botanically in 1855, it quickly found its way into gardens across Europe, admired for its jewel-toned petals, compact form, and reliable return.
Unlike modern hybrid tulips that often fade after one showy season, humilis tulips are true species – low-growing, long-lived, and full of character.
They’re happiest in well-drained soil and sunny spots, where they’ll flower early and return with the same energy each spring – making a simple statement in your garden.
