Germidour is from south-west France and has some serious foodie credentials! It is one of only two varieties permitted for the production of Ail violet de Cadours, a regional purple garlic with protected AOP status. To carry the Ail violet de Cadours name, the garlic must be produced within its designated geographical area and according to specific rules.

We can’t give ours the protected name, but we can grow one of the very same varieties in our own kitchen gardens! Germidour produces beautiful bulbs streaked with violet and has a mild but rich flavour.
