Onion ‘Borettana’ is a traditional Italian heirloom that dates back to the 15th century. Originally from the town of Boretto in northern Italy, it produces small, flattened bulbs with golden-brown skin and a mild, sweet flavour.
It’s perfect for roasting whole, caramelising, or pickling in balsamic vinegar — a real favourite in Italian cooking. The bulbs keep well once dried
These onion seeds can be sown in trays or modules from January to March or direct sow in April. Harvest from July to September as required.
