Onion ‘Long Red Florence’ is an elegant Italian heirloom dating back to the 1800s, originating from the historic city of Florence. It produces slender, torpedo-shaped bulbs with glossy crimson-red skin and tender, sweet flesh.

Renowned for its superb flavour, Long Red Florence is delicious raw in salads, gently pickled, or grilled whole. The bulbs are rich in anthocyanins — the antioxidant pigments responsible for their deep colour. Harvest young as spring onions or allow to mature for full-sized bulbs bursting with sweetness.
